Continuing

to Strengthen 

Cooperation

with Local Partners

To maintain the following collaboration and mechanism  through deepening the local partners' awareness and understanding towards the welfare services, in order to deliver appropriate services to the needy in a timely manner :

  1. Introducing new development of welfare service in District Councils and at district level
  2. Organize service briefing for local stakeholders
  3. Strengthen the link with other government departments and work partners to facilitate smooth development of services
  4. Continue the adoption of the district coordinating mechanism and local liaison groups
  5. Organize district forum annually to correspond with policy directive and respond to local demands

Providing

Community

Support Services

To actively seek for resources to strengthen community support services so that the family in need can maintain its functioning with due support :

  1. Continue the Home Environment Improvement Scheme for the Elderly
  2. Implement the Pilot Project on Child Development Fund to help the deprived children and youth
  3. Facilitate development of deprived children and youth through the 'District Support Scheme for Children and Youth Development'
  4. Extend the Neighbourhood Support Child Care Project
  5. Step forward with the implementation of services of Integrated Community Centre for Mental Wellness
  6. Organize promotional activities on products and services by persons with disabilities
  7. Continue the Short-term Food Assistant Service Project
  8. Assist in implementation of Victim Support Programme for Victims of Family Violence
  9. Facilitate operation of the Pilot Cyber Youth Outreaching Projects
  10. Assist in implementation of enhancement of school social work service at secondary school

Promoting
Harmonious,
Inclusive and Positive
Community Spirit

To promote positive thinking and spread optimism to different sectors of the community and help strengthen resilience to adversity through various training and activities :

  1. Assist in promoting the community health project 'Happy Living in Eastern District' themed under positive psychology and the movement 'Happiness Project' in Wanchai District
  2. Continue the 'Orange Ribbon Movement'
  3. Reinforce promotion of volunteer movement
  4. Promote 'Opportunities for the Elderly Project'
  5. Assist in pressing on the tasks to combat youth drug abuse
  6. Rally the local strength to support social inclusion

 

 4. Uniting Social Workers and Promoting Professionalism

To design and organize various kinds of activities to promote work-life-balance and uplift the professionalism of welfare service staff of the Department and non-governmental organization : 

  1. Organize cross-service sharing activities to enhance delivery of related services
  2. Care for staff's work-life-balance
  3. Strengthen team spirit
