CSSA caseload for June

    The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in June shows a decrease of 0.2% (462 cases) over May, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released by the Social Welfare Department today (July 9).

    Total CSSA caseload at the end of June stood at 283,918 (see attached table), with a total of 487,233 recipients. 

    Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases showed a continued decrease of 0.4% in June to 31,011.

    Single parent cases registered a month-to-month decrease of 0.1% in June to 36,476.
 
    Low earning cases showed a month-to-month decrease of 0.4% to stand at 16,656.

    Total government expenditure on CSSA payments was about $17.6 billion for 2006-07.
