Community Support Service Scheme 

*           Service Description 

Community Support Service Scheme (CSSS) of Social Welfare Department was set up in December 1994, with the aim to assist young offenders to stay law-abiding and develop socially acceptable behaviour through group counselling and structured activities.   

     

*           Target Group 

a) Young offenders aged below 25 put under Probation Order, Community Service Order or  Reformatory School Order; and  

b)   their parents.   

  

*           Application Procedure 

The customers can approach their probation officers, aftercare officers and social work staff of correctional/residential homes to apply for services.   

     

*           Content of Service 

1)  Counselling groups: 

Problem solving, emotion management, social skills, parent-child relationship, etc;  

     

2)  Supportive groups: 

Youth peer-support groups, parent peer-support group, etc.;  

     

3)  Programmes: 

Volunteer service, seminar, workshop, sports and recreational activities, etc. 

  

*            Fees and Charges 

All activities are free.

 Monday to Friday:

 8:45 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays)

*     Linkage with other social services 

Close liaison and case sharing on a need-to-know basis are maintained among the Scheme staff and the referring officers. Collaboration work is emphasized to provide a coordinated welfare treatment plan for the target customers to achieve optimum rehabilitation results.
