District Support Centre for Persons with Disabilities (DSC) 

  Service Objectives 

District Support Centre for Persons with Disabilities (DSC), by adopting a district-based approach, provides one-stop community support services for PWDs and their family members/carers.  It aims at enhancing the domestic living and community living skills for PWDs so as to facilitate their integration into the community through the provision of a range of community support services.  It also provides training and support services to the family members/carers of PWDs so as to strengthen their caring capacity and to relieve their stress.

  Target Groups
 
 1. PWDs living in the community;
 2. Family members/carers of PWDs; and
 3. Community at large.
   
  Programme Content

DSC would meet the needs of PWDs by providing a range of services and activities, including :

  
 1.

Individual or group training programmes and support services for PWDs to enhance their domestic living and community living skills;

 2.

Social, recreational and personal development programmes for PWDs;

 3.

Training programmes/educational courses/workshops for family members/ carers of PWDs to enhance their caring capacities;

 4.

Supportive services to family members/carers of PWDs to relieve their stress;

 5. Community education;
 6. Drop-in service for PWDs; and
 7.

Information on community resources and referral services for appropriate welfare services

   
Source of Referrals

PWDs and their family members/carers can directly approach the DSCs for services.

 
Fees and Charges
Membership fee is $21 per annum.
