Small Group Home for Mildly Mentally Handicapped Children / Integrated Small Group Home
Service Description It provides home-like residential care service to school-age children with mild mental handicap whose families cannot give them adequate care. There are two modes of operation either in a group of 8 children with mild mental handicap or in a mix of one mildly mentally handicapped child to seven ordinary children.

Eligibility for the Service Mildly mentally handicapped children aged 6-18 who are: |

orphaned or not receiving adequate care from parents or relatives; or |
 |
in crisis or in need of short-term care away from their families. |
Application Procedures Referrals can be made by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the Social Welfare Department.
Fees and Charges The service is provided free-of-charge.
