Small Group Home for Mildly Mentally Handicapped Children / Integrated Small Group Home

Service Description
It provides home-like residential care service to school-age children with mild mental handicap whose families cannot give them adequate care. There are two modes of operation either in a group of 8 children with mild mental handicap or in a mix of one mildly mentally handicapped child to seven ordinary children.

Eligibility for the Service Mildly mentally handicapped children aged 6-18 who are:
	orphaned or not receiving adequate care from parents or relatives; or
	in crisis or in need of short-term care away from their families.

Application Procedures
Referrals can be made by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the Social Welfare Department.

Fees and Charges
The service is provided free-of-charge.
