Transitional Care and Support Centre for Tetraplegic Patients

Service Objectives

Transitional Care and Support Centre for Tetraplegic Patients (TCSC) provides time-defined and goal-oriented community-based rehabilitation programmes to tetraplegic patients discharged from hospital/medical rehabilitation centre to facilitate their return to community living with a view to improving their physical, cognitive, communicative, behavioural, psychological and social functioning in a non-medical setting.  Training and support services will also be provided to family members or carers of the patients to strengthen their caring capacity. The project is funded by Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.


Target Group

Discharged patients suffering from spinal cord injury, neuro-muscular disease or severe spastic resulting in tetraplegia, who are aged 15 or above

Family members / carers of the above discharged patients

Nature of Services
The services provided include:
Transitional Residential Service
Ambulatory Day Training Programme
Support Services including residential respite care service

Referred by medical officers or allied health professionals of hospitals or special clinics under Hospital Authority
