Purpose of the Project 
   
  The project aims to promote the holistic development of young people by providing opportunities and recognition for them to develop competence and skills which are conducive to positive youth development, promoting bonding with others, and holding healthy beliefs and clear values.

Implementation Schedule

 
  • For participating schools, the programmes will be implemented at Secondary 1, Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 levels in 2009/10 to 2011/12 school years.
  • For schools newly join P.A.T.H.S. in 2009/10 school year, the programmes will be implemented at Secondary 1 level  in 2009/10 school year, at Secondary 1 and Secondary 2 levels in 2010/11 school year. In 2011/12 school year, the programmes will be implemented at Secondary 1, Secondary 2 and Secondary 3 levels.
  • The Tier 2 Programme may be implemented concurrently with the Tier 1 Programme or sequentially to the Tier 1 Programme.
The project will be implemented according to the following timetable:

 Design of the Project

  There will be two tiers of programmes with details as follows:
Tier I Programme 
  • Universal positive youth development programme developed by the Research Team
  • For all students in Secondary One to Secondary Three
  • 20 hours of youth development programme in each school year comprising both core and elective programmes
  • Participating schools and Non-governmental Organisations may adopt the 20- hour full programme or the 10-hour core   programme 
Tier II Programme
  • For students with greater psychosocial needs identified in Tier I Programme and/or via other sources.
  •  Programmes to be developed by Non-governmental Organisations according to the needs of students in individual
    schools
