Vacancies for posts in Hong Kong Civil Service will be advertised in the local press (the Ming Pao Daily News) on a Saturday and in the Job Centre of the Employment Services Division of Labour Department. Vacancies will also be publicized in the HKSAR Government Information Centre on the internet (http://www.info.gov.hk). You should apply for a post in response to such an advertisement, following the procedures therein.

I would like to know whether my overseas academic qualifications are comparable to local academic qualifications in academic standard.

Can my previous experience be granted salary increment if I join the Social Welfare Department?
Whether to grant Incremental Credit for Experience to new appointees depends on the need of each recruitment exercise. Please note the remarks in the advertisements if any.
