Lotteries Fund allocates over $75m to welfare programmes The Lotteries Fund allocated $75,017,400 to finance various social welfare service programmes from July to September, 2004, the Social Welfare Department said today (October 28). Of the amount, $63,000,000 went to social welfare support services, $ 5,476,900 to family and child welfare services, $3,757,500 to rehabilitation services and $2,783,000 to elderly and medical social services. The fund was established to finance, by way of grants, loans or advances, the operation or development of social welfare services and medical or educational projects with a welfare content.
