Working Group / Advisory Committee

The following Working Groups and Advisory Committee advise on family and child welfare related matters:

 Committee on Child Abuse

* The Committee on Child Abuse (CCA) is chaired by the Director of Social Welfare and comprises representatives from related bureaux, government departments and non-governmental organizations. It is responsible for examining the problem of child abuse and mapping out strategies to address the problem.

 Working Group on Combating Violence
* Working Group on Combating Violence (WGCV) which is chaired by the Director of Social Welfare and comprises representatives from related bureaux, government departments and non-governmental organizations, is responsible for mapping out strategies to address the problem of spouse battering and sexual violence.

 Working Group on Elder Abuse
* Working Group on Elder Abuse (WGEA) which is chaired by the Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Family and Child Welfare) and comprises representatives from related bureaux, government departments, Elderly Commission, Hong Kong Council of Social Service and tertiary institute, is responsible for examining the issue of elder abuse and proposing strategies to address the problem.
