Hong Kong Paralympians Fund

Set up with a $ 50 million grant from the General Revenue, the Hong Kong Paralympians Fund is managed by the Social Welfare Department and overseen by a Management Committee comprising mainly non-official members from the sports and rehabilitation fields, with the assistance of a Grants Sub-committee. The Fund aims to foster the development of sports for people with disabilities and to support athletes with disabilities in their pursuit of sporting excellence in international events by providing financial assistance to them in all stages of their sporting career.

The Fund disburses grants to the following categories of programmes with a view to providing support to athletes with disabilities during all stages of their sporting career and thereafter:

(a)  development of target sports 

(b)  subsistence grant to athletes with disabilities  

(c)  employment facilitating grant for retired athletes with disabilities
