Nov 2010 Announcement of the result of invitation exercise for the Pilot Scheme on Home Care Services for Frail Elders

The Social Welfare Department invited eligible Non-governmental Organisations and Social Enterprises to submit proposal for the Pilot Scheme on Home Care Services for Frail Elders (the Scheme) in this August. A total of eleven proposals have been received. Upon the recommendation of the Vetting Committee, the Social Welfare Department selected three Organisations to operate the Scheme in the following service boundary:

Nov 2010 Application for Hong Kong Paralympians Fund

Applications are invited for the following categories of grants under the Hong Kong Paralympians Fund. 

(a) Development of target sports (2011-12);
(b) Employment facilitating grant for retired athletes with disabilities (2011-13);
(c) Subsistence grant to athletes with disabilities (2011-12).

The deadline for (a) and (b) is 16 December 2010 and deadline for (c) is 4 January 2011.

Nov 2010 Announcement of the result of invitation exercise for the Pilot Scheme on Home Care Service for Persons with Severe Disabilities

The Social Welfare Department invited non governmental organisations to launch the Pilot Scheme on Home Care Service for Persons with Severe Disabilities (the Scheme) in this August. A total of twelve proposals for operating the Scheme have been received. Upon the recommendation of the Vetting Committee, the Social Welfare Department awarded the project to The Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council and Christian Family Service Centre for operating the Scheme in Tuen Mun and Kwun Tong district respectively.

Nov 2010 Briefing Sessions on pilot Bought Place Scheme (BPS) for private Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs)

The Social Welfare Department held 3 briefing sessions on pilot Bought Place Scheme (BPS) for private Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs) on 18, 21 and 26 October 2010 at the Lady Trench Training Centre. Nov 2010 Application for "The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" and/ or "Central Fund for Personal Computers"

"The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" (11th round) and "Central Fund for Personal Computers" (23rd round) now accept applications. The deadline for both the Scheme and Fund is 3 December 2010.

Eligible organisations, educational institutes and individual persons with visual impairment may apply for "The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" whereas "Central Fund for Personal Computers" is for eligible persons with disabilities engaging in self-employment or supported employment service.
