Establishment of the Dedicated Fund to Support the Development of Social Welfare Organisations
The Government implemented the Dedicated Fund (DF) in May 2024 to support non-governmental organisations (NGOs) operating subvented welfare services in meeting their development needs, including promoting the adoption of information technology (IT) and facilitating system enhancement. Through the application of IT, NGOs can enhance management capabilities, re-engineer services/improve service processes, and improve service efficiency, with a view to providing focused and quality welfare services and support to individuals in need.
Information Technology Strategy for the Social Welfare Sector
With the support of the Joint Committee on Information Technology for the Social Welfare Sector, SWD continued to implement the strategy and action plan to promote IT development across the social welfare sector through various channels and measures, including continuously organising sharing sessions under the “Experience Sharing Platform for IT Projects in the Social Welfare Sector”. Topics covered included successful project implementation by NGOs, IT security and data protection, IT project planning, governance and oversight, preparation of tender/procurement documents, and planning and preparation of IT project proposals under the DF
