Highlights of the Year 2019-20

Recreational Activities

Recreational activities were arranged as follows:

• 4 line dance classes and 5 interest groups, namely SWD Choir, Running Team, Dragon Boat Team, Basketball Team and Football Team, were organised. SWD Choir, together with staff and their family members, organised a charity show cum visiting event at a home for the aged in Kwun Tong in January 2020.
• Staff received sponsorships to take part in competitions, including Gorun Together 2019 (8km and 2km races), the Dragon Boat Racing Competition, the Social Work Cup 7-a-side Football Competition and the Social Work Cup Basketball Competition.

Staff Volunteer Service

The Staff Volunteer Team participated in Project "Angels' Act" by paying regular concern visits and arranging activities for DSW wards under out-of-home care, with a view to enabling the DSW wards to share the warmth and joy of family life during holidays. As at end of March 2020, the Project had 32 volunteers including staff and family members, serving 16 DSW wards.
