Q1:

What is the entry and exit mechanism of the service of correctional/residential home ?

A1: All the cases are referred by Court, Police, Immigration Department or Social Welfare Department and the entry and exit mechanism is bound by the terms and conditions of respective ordinances. For the details of ordinances concerned, please refer to 'Related Legislation' in the Homepage.

 

Q2: What are the arrangement for providing volunteer services to the residents of correctional/residential home?
 
A2: Interested volunteer groups can contact the Superintendent of the home direct for the arrangement of provision of volunteer services to the residents. For the contact phone number and address of the home, please refer to 'Services for Offender' in the Homepage. 

 

Q3: What is the Volunteer Scheme for Probationers ? How to apply to become a volunteer ?
 
A3: The Scheme aims at promoting greater community involvement in helping probationers re-integrate into the community. The services rendered by the volunteers include tutorial service, developing friendship with probationers, providing them guidance for recreational activities, organizing group and programme activities, etc. Applicants should be aged 21 or above and have completed F.5 or above. Application forms can be obtained from any Probation and Community Service Orders Office of the Social Welfare Department.
