Day Care Centres/Units for the Elderly (DEs/DCUs) provide a range of centre-based care and support services during daytime to enable frail or demented elders suffering from moderate or severe level of impairment to maintain their optimal level of functioning, develop their potential, improve their quality of life and to live in their own homes wherever feasible and possible. Besides, DEs/DCUs also provide various kinds of support and assistance to the carers in order to enable them to continue to assume their responsibilities as carers.
