The Social Welfare Department (SWD) has earlier issued Invitation for Proposals to implement the “Pilot Scheme on Multi-disciplinary Outreaching Support Teams for the Elderly” (MOSTE).  Based on Vetting Committee's assessment, SWD accepted the recommended Non-governmental Organisations (NGOs) to operate the MOSTE in the six Regional Clusters with details listed below -

Dec 2018Simplified arrangement of Medical Fee Waiving

To further facilitate the medical fee waiving at public clinics or hospitals (including the Accident & Emergency Department) for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) recipients and Higher Old Age Living Allowance (Higher OALA) recipients aged 75 or above, the simplified arrangement for medical fee waiving has now been implemented.

The Twelfth Round Regular Portion Application and the Fifth Round Dedicated Portion Application for Implementing After-school Learning and Support Programmes under the Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged will be open for application before the end of December 2018.  Details of application will be announced soon.
Dec 2018The Final Report of the Consultancy Study on the Long-term Development of Child Care Services

In December 2016, the Social Welfare Department commissioned the Department of Social Work and Social Administration of The University of Hong Kong (the Consultant Team) to conduct a “Consultancy Study on the Long-term Development of Child Care Services” (the Study).  The Study looks into the overall provision of day child care services in Hong Kong and advises on the long-term development of child care services.

The Consultant Team has furnished the Final Report on the Study and has put forward a series of recommendations to improve the quality and quantity of child care services in Hong Kong.

Dec 2018Announcement of the Result of Invitation for Proposals for Implementing the Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (Phase 1)

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) has earlier invited subvented non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to submit proposals to implement the Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (Phase 1) (the Pilot Scheme).  A total of 28 proposals were received and a Vetting Committee was set up to conduct assessment of the proposals.  Upon the recommendation of the Committee, SWD has selected the following 17 NGOs (including 15 operating Full Social Work Teams and 2 operating Half-teams) to implement the Pilot Scheme (Phase 1)  -

Dec 2018Application for “Hong Kong Paralympians Fund”

Applications are invited for the following categories of grants under the Hong Kong Paralympians Fund. 

(a) Development of Target Sports (2019-20);
(b) Subsistence Grant to Athletes with Disabilities (2019-20);
(c) Employment Facilitating Grant for Retired Athletes with Disabilities (2019-22);
(d) Audit fee (2019-20).

The deadline for (c) is 28 December 2018 and deadline for (a), (b) and (d) is 4 January 2019.

Dec 2018Application for "The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" and/ or "Central Fund for Personal Computers"

"The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" (The Scheme)(27th round) and "Central Fund for Personal Computers" (The Fund) (39th round) now accept applications.  The deadline for both the Scheme and Fund is 7 December 2018. The Scheme has been further enhanced since October 2015, including expansion of coverage on subsidy to purchase accessories/portable devices for PVI.

Eligible organisations, educational institutes and individual persons with visual impairment may apply for "The Jockey Club IT Scheme for People with Visual Impairment" whereas "Central Fund for Personal Computers" is for eligible persons with disabilities engaging in self-employment at home or supported employment service at home.
