Jun 2019Review on Processing of Compassionate Rehousing (CR) Cases

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) consulted personnel directly involved in the processing of CR cases on the proposed enhancement measures from September to November 2018, so as to rationalise and optimize the processing of CR cases.  The review has been completed and the SWD will follow up the finalized enhancement measures accordingly.
 
Jun 2019Provision of one-off extra allowance to recipients of Social Security Payments

The Legislative Council approved funding allocation on 16 May 2019 for implementing the measures as announced by the Financial Secretary on 27 February 2019 to provide one additional month of standard rate for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients and one additional month of allowance for Old Age Allowance (including those payable under the Guangdong Scheme and Fujian Scheme), Old Age Living Allowance and Disability Allowance recipients under the Social Security Allowance Scheme. 

Eligible recipients will receive the one-off additional payment on 14 June 2019 and the payment will be credited to the designated bank accounts of the recipients.  Recipients are not required to make application for the additional payment.
Jun 2019Announcement of the Result of Invitation for Proposals for Implementing the Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (Phase 2)

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) has earlier invited eligible non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to submit proposals to implement the Pilot Scheme on Social Work Service for Pre-primary Institutions (Phase 2).  A total of 23 proposals were received and a Vetting Committee (Committee) was set up to conduct assessment of the proposals.  Upon the recommendation of the Committee, SWD has selected the following proposals (including 13 operating Full Social Work Teams and four operating Half-teams) to implement the services of the Pilot Scheme (Phase 2) –

Jun 2019Announcement of the Result of Invitation for Proposals to Operate the Mobile Van for Publicity Service on Mental Wellness (MVP Service)

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) has earlier invited Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) operating community mental health support service(s) to submit proposals to operate the MVP Service.  A total of 12 proposals were received and a Vetting Committee (VC) was set up to conduct assessment of the proposals.  Upon the recommendations of the VC, SWD has selected 4 NGOs to operate the MVP Service in the five designated regions as follows:

Jun 2019Invitation of eligible elderly persons to apply for the fifth batch of vouchers under the Pilot Scheme on Residential Care Service Voucher for the Elderly

The Social Welfare Department (SWD) launched the Pilot Scheme on Residential Care Service Voucher (RCSV) for the Elderly in March 2017.  A total of 3 000 RCSVs will be issued to eligible elderly persons in five batches within a period of three years from 2017 to 2019.  SWD has sent invitation letters to eligible elderly persons on 30 May 2019 with their application dates for long-term care services on or before 31 December 2018, inviting them to consider applying for the fifth batch of RCSVs by 27 June 2019.  For more information about the Pilot Scheme, please click here.
