Central Psychological Support Service (Adult Service)

Target Group

  • Persons with developmental disabilities (PWDDs) who are users of rehabilitation services under government's subvention and not currently served by any clinical psychologist, including those in Day Training, Vocational Rehabilitation Service and Residential Services for intellectually disabled persons;
  • Family and staff caregivers of PWDD of the above.

Services

Clinical psychologists of SWD Central Psychological Support Service, Adult Service (CPSS(AS)) pay regular visits to different rehabilitation units to provide psychological consultation to staff and PWDD's family members on the behavioral and emotional problems of the PWDD as manifested in the rehabilitation unit, which include

  • Case assessment and consultation, with some demonstrative treatment if needed;
  • Life Transition Support Service;
  • Family and staff caregiver training;
  • Service consultation for the rehabilitation unit;
  • Project/Service tools development.

Access to Services

  • Officer-in-charge of eligible rehabilitation service unit could apply our service through the Coordinator of CPSS (AS).  Service is then arranged by referral from the rehabilitation service units.  It could be submitted through "The Client Information System (CIS) Online Submission " of SWD.
