Introduction    

To show care and respect for the elderly, the Social Welfare Department (SWD) provides a generally recognized proof of age to elderly persons so as to facilitate their access to concessions or privileges offered by government departments, public organisations and merchants. 

Eligible Applicants and Application Procedures

"iAM Smart" Version of Electronic Senior Citizen Card (Free of Charge)

The SWD launched the Electronic Senior Citizen Card (SCC) on 4 March 2025 through the "iAM Smart" and "e-Proof" platforms of the Digital Policy Office. Both new applicants of SCC and existing card holders can obtain the "iAM Smart" version of Electronic SCC via the "iAM Smart" mobile app without additional fee. Citizens can use the “iAM Smart” mobile app to display the electronic SCC. Its benefits and functions are the same as the physical SCC. Besides, all previously issued physical and electronic SCC remain valid.

If the applicants or cardholders do not have an "iAM Smart" account, please download the "iAM Smart" mobile app and complete the registration. For details, please visit the "iAM Smart" website. Senior Citizen Card Office

The Senior Citizen Card Office is responsible for the implementation of the Senior Citizen Card Scheme (Scheme) and the issue of the Senior Citizen Card.

Point to note

Please be alerted that the Senior Citizen Card's renewal or address update is not required.

Concession information

Government departments, public organisations, shops or merchants are provided with the adhesive logo for the Scheme to use as identification. Elderly persons may consult shop assistant for concession information.
Concessions or privileges provided by government departments, public organizations, merchants, etc. are subject to actual service demand and operational need. Thank you for your attention.
The concession offered by different merchants / shops / organisations is subject to change from time to time. Senior Citizen Card holders shall enquire the merchants / shops / organisations about their prevailing concession offer when using the card. The merchants / shops / organisations reserve the right to confirm the offer of concession if there is a difference between the offer shown on the SWD's website / mobile application and their actual offer.

Senior Citizen Card Smartphone Applications (Apps)

The SWD has launched the Senior Citizen Card (SCC) App, allowing service users to get access to the latest SCC concession information through their smartphones at any time and at any place. The App is now available on iPhone, Android and Huawei platforms.  Users can download the App for free from iPhone App Store, Android Market or Huawei AppGallery by searching for 'Senior Citizen Card'.

Application Procedures for companies to join the Senior Citizen Card Scheme

Interested companies/organisations may download the application form below and submit the completed application form by mail, email or fax. Companies/organisations can also apply online though GovHK. All participating companies/organisations are provided with adhesive logos for the Scheme to use as identification.
