Special Scheme to Import Care Workers for Residential Care Homes
After reviewing the demand for and supply of care workers in the residential care home (RCH) sector, the quota ceiling for imported care workers was increased to 15 000 in July 2024, allowing RCHs to apply in batches over the following three years. As at the end of March 2025, RCHs for the elderly and RCHs for persons with disabilities had been granted 7 408 and 843 quotas, respectively, for importing care workers, including contract renewal quotas.
