Working Group on Elder Abuse

Working Group on Elder Abuse (WGEA) which is appointed by Director of Social Welfare, chaired by the Assistant Director of Social Welfare (Elderly) and comprises representatives from related bureau, government departments, Hospital Authority, Hong Kong Council of Social Service, tertiary institute and social service sector, is responsible for examining the issue of elder abuse and proposing strategies to address the problem.

Terms of Reference of WGEA

1. to examine the issue of elder abuse in Hong Kong;
2. to propose strategies, practical measures and action plan to combat the problem of elder abuse; and
3. to draw up a frame work to implement the action plan.
