Young Offender Assessment Panel
Service Description
Young Offender Assessment Panel is jointly set up by the Social Welfare Department and the Correctional Services Department. It provides consolidated professional recommendation on social rehabilitation plan of convicted young offenders for the courts’ reference in sentencing.
Service Target
- Male offenders aged 14 to under 25 referred by the courts
- Female offenders aged 14 to under 21 referred by the courts
Service Scope
The Panel, by reference to assessment reports and relevant information as well as interview with the young offenders concerned, provides consolidated professional recommendation on social rehabilitation plan of convicted young offenders for the courts’ reference in sentencing.
