Residential Service for High-Risk Youth and Young Probationers
Service Description
The Social Welfare Department provides subvention to non-governmental organisation to operate 24-hour crisis residential service and transitional residential service to high-risk youth and young probationers. Through a structured living environment and integrated training programmes, the services facilitate young people’ reintegration into the family and community, and to lead a responsible and disciplined life.
Service Target
- Crisis residential service for young people - high-risk youth or probationers between the age of 8 and 21 (by referral of social workers, Probation Officers or self-application)
- Transitional residential service for young people - high-risk youth or probationers between the age of 15 and 21 (by referral of social workers or Probation Officers)
Service Scope
- Crisis residential service for young people (round-the-clock service, maximum accommodation of 2 months)
- Transitional residential service for young people (maximum accommodation of 12 months)
- Professional intervention and integrated training programmes
