Integrated Service Centre for Persons with Visual Impairment
Description
It provides comprehensive rehabilitation training programme for persons with visual impairment, particularly to those newly blind with the aim of developing their independent living skills and helping them regain self-confidence for their integration into the community.
Service Nature and Contents
- Counselling;
- Training in orientation and mobility skills;
- Training in communication skills;
- Training in home management skills;
- Training in social skills;
- Organising groups/programmes;
- Providing centre transportation; and
- Communication and information service (no age limit).
Target Service Users
Persons with visual impairment aged 16 or above.
Application Procedures
Self-approach is accepted. Referral can also be made by social worker or staff of eye hospital or eye clinic.
