Children and Youth Centres (CYCs)

Service Description

Children and Youth Centres are established to encourage children and youth to help children and youth to face new challenges and difficulties in their personal growth and / or changing environment and circumstances. Through engaging in worthwhile activities and pursuits, allowing them to organise their own groups and to reach out into the community with a view to assisting them with their personal development. Through guidance and support, family and other personal relationships should be enhanced and community and international perspectives developed.
To 4 core programmes are provided:

  • Guidance and counselling service;
  • Supportive service for young people in disadvantaged circumstances;
  • Socialisation programmes;
  • Development of social responsibility and competence.

Target Group

They serve children and youth aged 6-24 on neighbourhood basis.

Fees and Charges

The annual membership fee is $29 while the programme fees depend on the nature of activities and the cost incurred.

Operating Hours

Generally speaking, CYCs have different operating hours and there are three types of sessions, i.e. morning session (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.), afternoon session (2 p.m. to 6 p.m.) and evening session (7 p.m. to 10 p.m.). Given the centres' operating are subject to change to suit operational needs, please contact individual centre for exact operating hours
