Opportunities for the Elderly Project (OEP) has been providing various opportunities for elderly persons to unleash their potential, further their contribution to the society and cultivate a sense of worthiness. An Award Presentation Ceremony is held every year to show appreciation to volunteers of outstanding service projects. Well before the Ceremony, publicity work will be done by various means to promote the event.
The conclusive and celebrating event to be held in Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung District to wrap up the two-year community education/ publicity project starting from June 2020 to enhance resilience through promotion and acquisition of positive psychology values in daily life.
“Alliance for Resilience” includes : Reunion day-Alliance for Resilience during which volunteers will be invited to share their contribution to the community, and Stories of volunteers in Kowloon City and Yau Tsim Mong Districts which aims at enhancing positive values and caring atmosphere in the community.
To celebrate the HKSAR 25th Anniversary in 2022, Sha Tin District Social Welfare Office organises a series of programmes under the theme of "Walking Together with Love in Sha Tin", including the “Evergreen Sports and Games Day cum 2022-23 Sha Tin Senior Caregivers and Volunteers Award Presentation Ceremony”, “2022-23 Sha Tin Youth Ambassador Scheme (Social Inclusion)” and “Wish Come True with Guardian Angel 2022” as well as "One and All Sha Tin Family Fun Fair" as the climax of events. The target groups of these programmes include elderly persons, children, parents, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities and their carers.
This presentation ceremony, with artists Anderson Junior and Ms Sarah Song as the MC, will surely touch your heart. With the theme of “Unfailing Love of Foster Families under the Epidemic”, the ceremony is to commend 398 foster families with long service and outstanding performance for their continuous care for the foster children under the epidemic and their provision of a ‘home’ which renders protection and shelter to the needy children. Through the authentic sharing of foster parents who received the awards, you can feel the happiness and satisfaction they gained from joining the foster care services, and understand how they have passed on the spirit of love.

It is the annual signature volunteer programme of Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District. It aims at promoting volunteerism and fostering a positive and caring community in the district. Volunteers from different sectors, including children, youth, women, elderly and persons with disabilities will be recruited. Through a series of training programmes, the volunteers are facilitated to actively roll out different volunteer work to echo community needs and support the underprivileged in the community.
The Kwun Tong District Social Welfare Office, in collaboration with over 30 social welfare units of different service natures, local organisations and the business sector, will set up six working groups in six respective localities to implement a signature project "Our Neighbourhoods @ Kwun Tong." It aimed to strengthen support to underprivileged families and to promote caring culture in the neighbourhood.
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the establishment of Hong Kong Special Administration Region (HKSAR), Eastern and Wan Chai District Social Welfare Office of the Social Welfare Department launches the “Caring Neighbourhood Sponsorship Scheme 2022” to encourage and sponsor welfare service units in the district to partner with non-governmental organisations, schools, business corporations, or community organisations to organise feature and cross-sectoral collaborative programmes for the residents to share the joy of the festival.
To celebrate the 25th birthday of HKSAR, the “Good Family Academy” Project invites residents of Tuen Mun to take part in the “25th Anniversary of the establishment of HKSAR Coaster Design Competition”. Through creating their art piece, entrants express the joy of celebrating this important event in Hong Kong’s history as well as their wish for building a harmonious family in a stable and prosperous society.
The competition was held from 4.2.2022 to 31.3.2022 with an enthusiastic response. The competition will have Finalist Award and Excellence Award. Award Presentation Ceremony will be held on 23.7.2022 to honour the Excellence Award winners.
This event is co-organized by the Yuen Long District Social Welfare Office/ Social Welfare Department and 13 local parties; funded by the Hong Kong Love & Care Charity Foundation Limited for the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the HKSAR and traditional festivals. It aims to deliver moment of joy and happiness to the singleton elderly, elderly couple who are living alone, single-parent families, persons in recovery, carers, and underprivileged groups in the district through arrays of talent shows and leisure activities. Volunteers will be mobilized for preparing and giving away dessert and gift packs to share love and support to the participants.
