Wong Tai Sin and Sai Kung Programme / Activities

To enhance public awareness towards elderly service in Wong Tai Sin district and motivation towards receiving day care or residential respite service for the elderly.

To pay visit to WTSIFSC and residential elderly service unit in Wong Tai Sin district; elderly service briefing and mindfulness programme.

To enhance parent-child relationship by learning basic skills of soft clay and experiencing creative art process

To teach basic skills of using soft clay and art materials to make handicraft (e.g.. Animals, plants and cartoon figures, etc.) and to facilitate parent and children to enjoy the process of creative art

1. to widen the social network 
2. to build up mutual support  
3. to strengthen the ability of resilience 
4. to enhance the belongingness of the community

Participants discuss and share views related to the district issue they observed. With guidance and facilitation, they arrange and take parts in voluntary work to serve the community with their own strength.

To facilitate soothing participants' daily stresses and improving blood circulation so as to cultivate a total relaxation moment.

Targeting to carers in the community, voluntary teacher will introduce the basic knowledge of massage oil and massage techniques in this workshop. Participants could experience the making of a bottle of massage oil and bring it home for usage.

Though understanding the core concepts of holistic health by integrating mind, body, and spirit, learn how to apply mind-body techniques to manage personal experiences of stress, pain, grief, and anxiety (especially for caregivers).

1) The speaker guides participants through experiential learning to help them understand how to seamlessly cultivate inner peace.
2) Explains the importance of emotional regulation for health and techniques for building positive thinking.
3) Explains how to appropriately integrate mind-body-spirit elements into disease management and attitude transformation.

Through the seminar, help seniors better accept that birth, aging, illness, and death are inevitable stages of life, and learn how to establish the Three Pillars of Peace.

To raise the awareness and understanding of residents about bone health

Bone Mass Density Examination, talk on Osteoporosis and healthy diet

To enhance the understanding on dementia

Through group games, sharing of community resources and talk on dementia patients, carers are helped to learn practical skills in taking care of their family members diagnosed with dementia. Carers will learn mindfulness as a mean to relieve their caring stress as well.
