Halfway House

Description

It provides a transitional period of residential care to facilitate persons in mental recovery to achieve an optimal level of functioning for the purpose of community reintegration.

Eligibility for the Service

Persons in mental recovery who are:

1. Persons in mental recovery who are aged 15 or above and mentally stable;
2. with reasonable vocational ability and motivation for open employment, physically healthy and free from infectious disease, alcohol or drug addiction;
3. capable of self-care, able to get along with others; and
4. halfway houses with special provision to cater for sub-target group (i.e. persons in mental recovery with a history of criminal violence or assessed disposition to violence).

Application Procedures

Referrals can be made by social workers to the Central Referral System for Rehabilitation Services of the SWD.  The application is free of charge. 

Fees and Charges

$1,220 for rent per month.
